Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Rapduo ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on rapduo.net. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies work the same way: your browser's local storage, session storage and IndexedDB let a site keep information on your device, and analytics scripts can collect information about your visit. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.

The cookies we use

We use three kinds. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not let advertising partners set cookies on the Site.

Necessary

The Site does not work without these.

Sign-in cookies — keep you signed in to your Rapduo account.
Google sign-in (g_state) — set by Sign in with Google to remember the state of its sign-in prompt.
Language (NEXT_LOCALE) — remembers whether you read the Site in English or Chinese.

Functional

These remember choices and keep things working smoothly.

Theme (active_theme) — remembers the look of the Site you chose.
Free-video check (session storage, credit-claim-attempted) — stops your browser from asking for the free video more than once in the same visit. It is cleared when you close the tab.
Photos before sign-in (IndexedDB, rapduo) — if you choose photos and press "Create rap video" before signing in, the photos are kept in your own browser while you sign in, so you do not have to pick them again. They are not uploaded to us until you are signed in. The copy is used only if you come back within an hour, and it is removed once it has been used.

Analytics

These tell us how the Site is used, so we can improve it.

Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_<ID>) — counts visits and measures which pages are used.
Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, and _cltk in session storage) — product analytics, including session recordings of pointer movement, clicks and scrolling. Clarity may also set cookies on its own domain.
Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts visits without setting cookies.
Plausible — counts visits without setting cookies. We run it on our own server.
OpenPanel — records how the Site is used, without setting cookies. We run it on our own server. When you are signed in, it links your activity to your account.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you:

see and delete the cookies stored on your device;
block all cookies, or only cookies from other websites;
clear local storage, session storage and IndexedDB for a site.

You can also block analytics scripts with a browser extension. Blocking necessary cookies will stop you from signing in and making videos.

We may update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
